In developing a queer model of orientations, she combines readings of phenomenological texts—by Husserl, Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, and Fanon—with insights drawn from queer studies, feminist theory, critical race theory, Marxism, and psychoanalysis. He holds degrees from New York, and the University of Ottawa Canada, and University of Guanajuato, Instituto Allende, Mexico.

����He taught art studio courses a professor of art at County College of Morris, Randolph, New Jersey, for fourteen years.

����Doren was an exchange scholar in Europe and publisher of NJ ARTform, and art magazine in New Jersey. As an artist(painter) he is a recipient of art prizes and has show in over 40 college and private galleries with works in private and public collection in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is listed in Who's Who in American Art (1993-4, 97-98 ed.) Who's Who in America (East Ed. 1993-98), and in the Dictionary of International Biography (23 ed). What is up with the bad computer renderings? I think since it's drawing book-drawings would've been more appropriate. This book is somewhat confusing and reads like classroom notes....I'm still trying to figure it out and I have a BFA. Had I not already known most of these techniques described, I don't think I would be able to decipher this book at all. Its like figuring out a puzzle trying to figure out what is written and the computer renderings are of no help at all. Im not saying its a bad book, its just a really confusing read.

The quintessential book on how to paint and draw

The Artist's Atelier is very well-organized and detail-oriented, not to mention visually appealing. At first I questioned the highly technical nature of the materials as it seemed at first overly complicated yet the information worked out to be invaluable. After looking at my finished drawings, and paintings I was amazed, thinking to myself "this is the best work I have ever produced so good, I can't believe that I did it", it certainly gives me faith in my abilities and inspires me to try more art. I think the techniques I learned from this book will help me in whatever medium I choose, and I wouldn't be surprised if they helped me draw realistic portraits from life as well.
Henry Doren instructs the reader to use the technics and approached of the old world master to get an exceptional image. He describes in detail how to draw each feature of a face, hand, foot, figure and gives many examples and technique. Finally the reader is encouraged to put it all the technics together and do a full portrait or painting.

There are a lot of books on sales and sales techniques (and I should know, I've written some of them!) but now there is book that speaks to the most important part of the sale - the customer's experience. English Conductor and teacher Norman Del Mar provides a detailed and enlightening approach to to the conducting student of Beethoven Symphonies. Modelled on Felix Weingartner's book of the same title, Del Mar provides through his countless experience insights and pointers to any hopeful would be conductors. All the traps concerning the performance of these symphonies, including structure, tempi, balance, orchestration, phrasing and articulation are all discussed. Humorous anecdotes are also included. Any student of conducting, or student of Beethoven must have this book, in as much as a guide to how Beethoven Symphonies were performed in the 1940's.

Entertaining practical guide

The late Norman Del Mar wrote a series of guides on conducting works in the orchestral repertoire. They are not aimed only at conductors but are of great interest to music lovers generally. You will however need to have copies of the orchestra scores he discusses, and be able to read them. But there is no complex musical or philosophical analysis - these are practical guides which go straight to the music itself.

Del Mar wrote with a refreshingly direct, no-nonsense style. Even if you think you know the Beethoven symphonies very well, Del Mar will alert you to many new details and insights. I heartily recommend this book.

Francesco Malatesta, born in 1990, is a web developer and a curious enthusiast from Vasto, a wonderful city on the Italian eastern coast. Good book on eloquent

This book is a good introduction to Eloquent. The author does decent job of filling in the gaps of the Laravel documentation. I did find a couple of items for an errata but nothing major and all easy to see what was meant. The English phrasing used did make me smile a few times but the author's English is better than my Italian (by orders of magnitude) so I'm not throwing stones.

Greate book on Laravel`s ORM: Eloquent

This is a good book!
It`s easy to read, good examples to help you understand the features and concepts of Eloquent. I am used to write my SQL query by hand, so this ORM-thing is a transition, but this book made me enjoy letting go of the control. It`s nice to not have SQL in my PHP code... Lots of good overviews in lists and tables makes it easy grasp the information. All my questions and skepticism where met and put to ease (advanced where-clauses, table joining, delete without really deleting (soft delete), query scopes (because you don`t want to repeat yourself, but a lot of queries will have the same constraints, and sometimes these can be advanced), conversion to array and JSON and so one. The book is awesome, and so is Eloquent!

I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book. It is a deep dive into Laravel's Eloquent ORM. It takes you through every aspect of Eloquent and even shows how to use Eloquent on it own outside of Laravel. I feel very confident using Eloquent after reading this book, I was a little unclear on how relationships worked even after reading Laravel's API documentation... this book cleared up any doubts. Another great thing about this book is it takes a look at Collections which are very powerful. I would like to see this author write another book exploring the whole Laravel framework in depth.
